The Sunnybank Centre for Women is a centre dedicated to health and wellbeing of women at all stages of life, providing world class obstetric and gynaecological care as well as midwifery.
We provide full pregnancy care and advice throughout, from conception to delivery and beyond into postnatal care. Here at Sunnybank Centre for Women you will see a midwife through the antenatal and postnatal periods, offering support and advice in commitment to our holistic approach to pregnancy.
In addition to our antenatal, postnatal and midwifery care, we are also committed to providing comprehensive, patient friendly healthcare to women at all stages of life. With a warm approach and modern, state-of-the-art facilities our team works closely with every patient to ensure a personalised approach to make informed decisions on treatment and management of conditions including pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Our team has extensive advanced training in minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.
Who we are
Operating out of private rooms in Brisbane’s Southside, the Sunnybank Centre for Women is located in close proximity to Sunnybank Private Hospital and Greenslopes Hospital. Our team is made up of a three specialists, comprising obstetricians and gynaecologists, Dr Joseph Jabbour and Dr Nelson Gonzalez as well as midwife Kathie Carlyon.
Dr Joseph Jabbour is known for his calm and friendly demeanour and commitment to providing world class care for each patient, with an individualistic and personalised approach. Having dedicated several years to perfect his approach as a gynaecologist and obstetrician, with gynaecological laparoscopy (key-hole) surgery and urogynaecology, Dr Jabbour ensures every patient is well informed and confident throughout all aspects of care.
Dr Nelson Gonzalez understands that pregnancy, motherhood and gynaecological concerns are very personal issues and thus brings and his experience, warmth, dedication and commitment to each patient. With over 9 years in practice, Dr Gonzalez has developed an interest and expertise a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological areas from pregnancy care and management to family planning, advanced gynaecological keyhole surgery and much more.
A practicing midwife since 1996, Kathie Carlyon has worked in a number of hospitals since her initial training in Sydney. With a commitment to a personalised approach to midwifery, Kathie believes every woman has the right to individualistic, tailored
